My
name is Brian Walters and I live in Wollongong NSW,
Australia.
I am now semi retired but can’t
seem to free myself of the computer bug. I am always in
conflict wanting to play tennis when the body allows me
or to embark on some new training session. I have twenty
years of relevant experience in electronics, computing
and training primarily in the training and assessment of
adults. I have run a successful computer repair business
for 25 years. I do not advertise this business but as a
result I also build websites both WordPress and "normal"
for many clients.
Teaching Adults
The challenge of teaching adults topics such as: SEO,
using FTP, writing Blogs, using FrontPage, configuring
Cpanel, forums and word press application is an exciting
challenge. The additional challenge of training over the
Internet has lead me to write a lot of PowerPoint
presentations on many topics including web hosting,
email systems and other topics including using VOIP and
web conferencing connections.
I have received and delivered
various personal development courses, technical courses
and management training courses while employed with
different companies. My expertise is in the training of
sales people, managers and technicians on how software
and hardware systems functioned and how to utilize new
hardware and software. I am a Gemini so I love training
people.
I have high level verbal & written
communication skills. I have developed training material
(workbooks and CD material) used for training purposes
of both technical and general information. This material
was delivered to an audience by me and others. I have an
understanding of and I have the capacity to apply
contemporary adult teaching and learning strategies to
others. I am able to lead people to a desired result
both in a classroom situation and over the phone and to
configure networks, printers and software setups.
I am experience with computer
applications that are appropriate to technical
disciplines. I am Familiar with Operating systems,
networks, printer configuration and many Microsoft
products. On my PC I have Group Mail 3 business edition,
MS office, Adobe Photoshop, FrontPage and I use
PowerPoint, All Capture 3 and Vereconference to do my
presentations.
Internet Safety
For may own sanity, safety and peace of mind I learnt
ages ago to protect myself from online fraud and "being
duped" by those who not interested in helping our
society but are only interested in the money. So for my
protection I run Symantec Internet Security 2011, PC
Tools Spyware Doctor and System Mechanic 10.5. These have
served me well over the years and I suggest if you are
on the Internet a lot these three programs are a minimum
set

I am pleased that you have made a decision to
